That’s what Lily does when she gets upset. Yes folks, my daughter is a spitter and you know what? It drives me insane. If I don’t pick her up fast enough? She spits at me. If I don’t let her jump in my arms? Spit. If I don’t feed her fast enough? Yup, spit.
In other news… she refuses to take a bottle from me anymore. She’s a big girl. She only wants cups and to eat real food, not that stuff that comes in a bottle. So she gets oatmeal at every meal along with sweet potatoes, bananas, sweet peas, pears, you name it. So far, she doesn’t care for squash all that much. She does however, love her food. She will eat anything. Because, after all… she’s a big girl.
I thought it was kind of interesting. I saw it on her blog and her blog.
So for the past three months or so, Lily has been saying ada and addy. In the past month, she has been saying it while looking at or looking for Benjamin. Last month, she was crying in my arms and she reached towards Benjamin and said “Ada”. We were astounded. It has happened a couple of more times, but yesterday, Benjamin took her to get her Synagis shot. I had a Mutual that started early so he got the pleasure. As they were holding her down and putting both needles into her leg, again, she cried this time for “Addy”. The nurses were surprised that she knew who he was and that she had a name for him.
So I guess this is official. Lily is saying Daddy. It just sounds like Ada or Addy.
I’m sorry… there is no preemie here. Look somewhere else.
So old faithful aka Benjamin’s computer died this past Friday. The conversation with our daughters went something like this.
Daddy: My computer died. *sniffles*
Kathryn: Let’s have a moment of silence *2 seconds later* OK, what are we having for dinner?
Lauren: Are we having a funeral for it? Remember when that squirrel died in our front yard and we had to have a funeral for it? Remember when Alexis laughed throughout it and you video taped it? Please??? Can we have a funeral? *giggles*
Me: *snort* Oh honey, I’m so sad *muffles the giggles*
It’s not that we’re aren’t sad that we don’t have a computer anymore, it’s the way Benjamin is so sad that is well… kinda funny. Now he’s going to kill me. *gulp*
I’m using Benjamin’s laptop computer. We get to use it in the evenings when he’s not working.
So Miss Lily has the flu. She is going on her second day of it now. Sunday morning at 2am I was woken up to her trying to breathe. Now, most of you know, she was a 29 week preemie. She had a hard time with spitting up and not being able to breathe. So her crib is in our room and I’m sure it will be in our bedroom for about another year before I feel comfortable to move her into her own room. So anyway, 2am, I jump out of bed, the comforter goes flying and I yell at Benjamin to turn the light on. I’m prepared to suck out her nose with my mouth-yes, it was that bad and yes, I’ve done it before. Anyhow, he turns on the light and I yank her out of the crib. She is breathing now *phew* but… there is vomit everywhere. Her pillow is ruined, we threw it out, I’ve washed all of the bedding, and there has been little sleep. She is in good spirits though. Even though she doesn’t have a fever, I’ve still given her tylenol. So things have been hectic here and tiring. I’m hoping this goes away because if she isn’t over it by tomorrow, I’m going to call her doctor and have her seen.
In other news… Saturday night, we decided to check the mail. In it was a letter from the school. I hate these letters, I never know what they’re going to say, especially when it’s not from the school, but the administrative offices. The last letter we received from them was a letter about Lauren going into her AP classes. This one… was regarding Kathryn. It seems they want to test Kathryn about placing her in an excel program. Her WASL scores were off the chart high this past year and they are considering her for this for the 5th grade. I’ve talked about it with her, and she would like to be tested to go into this program. The letter starts out with… “does your child ask a lot of questions?” I just laughed to myself. Kathryn? Heck, they could have been describing her. She is always asking questions. So much that Benjamin on his blog came up with nicknames for all of us and Kathryns? “The Questioner” hahahaha So we’ll see on this one.
That’s about it. I’m going to work tonight since I wasn’t able to go into the office. After that, I’m going to try and get some sleep.
Nope, not me!
Yup! Except Lily will be older. And have more hair. Tune in for more details.
I just wanted to wish my saintly sis-in-law a very happy birthday! She’s of course turning 29 again today. She puts up with so much from me, my mother, her husband… Most of all her husband. But! She is blissfully happy!
Here’s to a wonderful fun filled, 6 kids at the office happy birthday!
