So we ate turkey at my mother’s house. All I had to do was show up and help clean up. She did all the cooking, she did all the work. I have to tell you, it was great. I love being an only child on holidays. Yes, it was just my family with my parents. I won’t be so lucky at Christmas as the whole family will be home. This will be a first in 10 years that we’ve had everyone together and even though my mother swore that she would never do family pictures again after last year, guess what? Yep, you guessed it, we’re doing family pictures. We just have to find someone to do it. All the siblings and grandchildren will be here, she just wants
to lose her mind and murder her grown children to have pictures of all of us. Oh, I’m sure it will be a blast and we’ll want to do this every year. *cough*
I digress. It was a simple dinner with turkey whom I named Fred and then my mother insisted his name is Tom. Wonderful stuffing, mashed potatoes, rocking rolls! So glad my mother found the recipe, as they were truly, the bomb! I wanted to post her roll recipe, however I got the death look from her… so, sadly, you will have to live vicariously through me. Salads? pfft, appetizers? pfft, who needs those when you have rolls and you can eat said foods any day of the year. Bellies full and my mother looks at me and hints broadly that we only live two minutes away, we can go home and come back later for pie. Translated? Go away, I want my nap.
So we came home and we napped and now I find myself wide awake at midnight, I’ve already put together another two scrap book albums, so I thought, why not? I’ll post since Benjamin asked me when I last did this. Again, translated to, post something!
I finally finished my doggie book. Now I need to get some pictures of my ferocious puppy to put in there and the other one? Is a Christmas present for my mother-in-law. So you Lubbock people? Shhhhh, I don’t want her knowing. It’ll be our little secret mkay?
Lets see, what else has happened? Oh yes! Lily started laughing. I have to admit, it’s way cute. She also had to get a synagis shot. That was $2,016. They had to give it her in each leg because there was so much. Thousand bucks in each leg. She has to get this on a monthly basis. I received a bill for that a couple of weeks ago. We’re up to our ears in medical bills, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that our insurance covered the full amount. Yay! We didn’t have to pay a dime. Oh, and she’s a heifer. She weighs in at 14lbs, 11oz.
On a sad note… I bought a couple of movies last month and they have disappeared. The Tin Man & Polar Express. I would like them back. If you took them, just bring them back. I won’t care. I will still love you. I just want to watch my tin man. I went to stores all around to find this movie. If you just want to leave them on my front door step, that would be fine too. I forgive you. I’m also offering a reward on them. $10. My girls still look for them. I look for them. Benjamin looks for them. So if you see that pair around, please, let me know so I can get them.
Oh yes, and I received a calling. Laurel Advisor. I need to get my medallion out and polished now. I’ve never been in Young Women’s before as a calling. I was talking to my mother today, I received my medallion in 1992. Right around the time my laurel’s were born. I’m way excited and a bit nervous. My mother assures me that YW is like primary, they’re just older. They have a calling for Benjamin as well, however, he had to stay home last Sunday and work, so we’ll know this Sunday…. any guesses?
That’s about it in the Vermillion household.
