Happy Thanksgiving!

So we ate turkey at my mother’s house. All I had to do was show up and help clean up. She did all the cooking, she did all the work. I have to tell you, it was great. I love being an only child on holidays. Yes, it was just my family with my parents. I won’t be so lucky at Christmas as the whole family will be home. This will be a first in 10 years that we’ve had everyone together and even though my mother swore that she would never do family pictures again after last year, guess what? Yep, you guessed it, we’re doing family pictures. We just have to find someone to do it. All the siblings and grandchildren will be here, she just wants to lose her mind and murder her grown children to have pictures of all of us. Oh, I’m sure it will be a blast and we’ll want to do this every year. *cough*

I digress. It was a simple dinner with turkey whom I named Fred and then my mother insisted his name is Tom. Wonderful stuffing, mashed potatoes, rocking rolls! So glad my mother found the recipe, as they were truly, the bomb! I wanted to post her roll recipe, however I got the death look from her… so, sadly, you will have to live vicariously through me. Salads? pfft, appetizers? pfft, who needs those when you have rolls and you can eat said foods any day of the year. Bellies full and my mother looks at me and hints broadly that we only live two minutes away, we can go home and come back later for pie. Translated? Go away, I want my nap.

So we came home and we napped and now I find myself wide awake at midnight, I’ve already put together another two scrap book albums, so I thought, why not? I’ll post since Benjamin asked me when I last did this. Again, translated to, post something!

I finally finished my doggie book. Now I need to get some pictures of my ferocious puppy to put in there and the other one? Is a Christmas present for my mother-in-law. So you Lubbock people? Shhhhh, I don’t want her knowing. It’ll be our little secret mkay?

Lets see, what else has happened? Oh yes! Lily started laughing. I have to admit, it’s way cute. She also had to get a synagis shot. That was $2,016. They had to give it her in each leg because there was so much. Thousand bucks in each leg. She has to get this on a monthly basis. I received a bill for that a couple of weeks ago. We’re up to our ears in medical bills, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that our insurance covered the full amount. Yay! We didn’t have to pay a dime. Oh, and she’s a heifer. She weighs in at 14lbs, 11oz.

On a sad note… I bought a couple of movies last month and they have disappeared. The Tin Man & Polar Express. I would like them back. If you took them, just bring them back. I won’t care. I will still love you. I just want to watch my tin man. I went to stores all around to find this movie. If you just want to leave them on my front door step, that would be fine too. I forgive you. I’m also offering a reward on them. $10. My girls still look for them. I look for them. Benjamin looks for them. So if you see that pair around, please, let me know so I can get them.

Oh yes, and I received a calling. Laurel Advisor. I need to get my medallion out and polished now. I’ve never been in Young Women’s before as a calling. I was talking to my mother today, I received my medallion in 1992. Right around the time my laurel’s were born. I’m way excited and a bit nervous. My mother assures me that YW is like primary, they’re just older. They have a calling for Benjamin as well, however, he had to stay home last Sunday and work, so we’ll know this Sunday…. any guesses?

That’s about it in the Vermillion household.

Question of the day:

What is your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?

Call me butter…

‘Cause I’m on a roll!

Here is my latest project. I just finished it tonight. Well, started and finished in one night. Yes, I’m that good.
I do believe that this one is my favorite so far.

Only Lauren…

So I have a ton to write about, but I have to share this with you. Tonight, while I was talking to my dad at the dinner table, I look at Lauren. She was in the living room. I don’t remember what she was doing. I noticed that there was this weird looking thing on my wall. I stared at it for a minute and then I say, "What is that on the wall? Did it just get there?" I’m pretty perplexed, and Lauren looks at it and is all, what is that??? Well…

A couple of months ago, Lauren wanted to step on a ketchup packet– the kind you get from fast food places, anyhow, we wouldn’t let her, and in my defense, I still didn’t let her. Benjamin had taken the girls out this past weekend while I was spending his money as fast as it was coming in and some ketchup packets had been brought home…

So I look over on the wall and this is what I see:

In all honesty, it took me about 5 seconds to realize what had happened. I then go over to Lauren where a smashed ketchup packet was. It got missed in the clean up and I’m not sure how it ended up in the living room. I then see this:

My eyes then wander down. To Lily’s clean folded clothes. And I see this:

You may not be able to see it, but there is ketchup on her clean clothes. So I look at her clothes, and then the wall and then the other wall and my eyes wander up. On the kitchen ceiling I see this:

So I keep going and see this:

and yes, my eyes keep going down

Oh, there’s more. I promise you.

So to recap. Lauren stepped on the ketchup packet in the living room. It went up on that wall, to the wall that has my trash and recycling. It then went on the ceiling of my kitchen. Then down the side to the glass sliding door that goes out to my deck and to the ground on that. Oh, and the cabinet that is next to the calendar? Yeah, she got it all over the top of that too. I found that when I was cleaning it up. *sigh*

ONLY LAUREN. My sweet, sweet child.

Ok, onto other news. I went to a scrap booking convention this past weekend and man oh man did I have fun! I spent way too much money. My birthday present from Benjamin is for him to not look online at our bank account for three weeks. Let me show you what I made so far.

I still have another two albums that didn’t get finished from the classes I took. A perpetual calendar and my doggie book for my ferocious puppy.

I also bought a album all about families and another girly girl booklet. A Christmas album and one about winter. Two rolodex type albums. (You’ll understand after I finish them and take pictures of them. That should be around oh… next August) And many many more! It was one of the best birthday’s ever.

Oh, and here are some random pictures taken this past week.

Here are the twins. Both bald with a little bit of peach fuzz on top with their ears sticking out. Oh, and they both look so happy don’t they? They’re both hungry and in wonderful moods!PICT0745

Oh, and one more thing. I took Lily to the eye Dr today and they aren’t too sure about her being cross eyed. They actually think that it has to do with her facial features of how her eyes are formed and that with time, the skin will retract from around her eyes so that it will look like she’s looking at you straight on. Because if she has cross eyes… it requires surgery. Which we don’t want.

Question of the day:

What is your favorite past time to help you relax?

Lily Smiling… For Real This Time

OK, So April sent me those pictures and I’m going to post them! For Real this time. I promise.

So here she is in the baby bjorn. She loves this thing. She will spend hours in it in my arms in the office.

And here she is… sober sided…

Here is the smile!!

I’ll try and get some more of my other girls. They’re cut too!

So I ended up not getting my camera. A bill we weren’t aware of up popped up instead.

So Cortney, tell me why a Canon is better than a Nikon because we’re still in the market after all.

Pictures of Lily Smiling

You thought you would actually see pictures of Lily smiling didn’t you? hahahahah well, you’re WRONG!

Ok, so I do have pictures, just not on my camera. I have some on my mother’s camera and April’s camera. April is our new front end gal at the office and she was helping me out with Lily on Friday as I was setting up a new client in our accounting system.

So when I get them, I’ll post them. But in the mean time…

Oh, and I got an anniversary/birthday/Christmas present this past weekend. We’ve been saving and saving up for this puppy.

Of course,

I jinxed myself… I knew better than to post that she slept through the night. She slept all day yesterday. Sooooo, she went to be last night at like 7. She was up at midnight and 5am. Still not bad, however I would like to get her on the whole sleeping through the night.

So here’s to sleeping through the night! In two years that is.
